ILMA shines as an Outstanding Entity in the University
In its drive to become a more research-intensive institution, the Research and Innovation Department of the North-West University has selected the Indigenous Language Media in Africa (ILMA) Research Entity as one of its performing research entities at the 20-year-old University.
According to a correspondence received from the Research and Innovation Office, the university’s 2022–2023 research report will feature all the research-performing entities on all North-West University campuses, as ILMA is selected as one.
ILMA, which is an acronym for Indigenous Language Media in Africa (ILMA) Research Entity, was established in June 2016 and was situated within the Department of Communication Science, Faculty of Humanities.
ILMA has been at the forefront of research in indigenous languages and media in Africa and other relevant research areas.
This is a testament to the high level of dedication and productivity of the entity’s members, as coordinated by its Director, Prof. Abiodun Salawu.
The outstanding performance of members of ILMA in the research year 2022-2023 deserves an accolade, as they are encouraged to do more in the coming years.
To the ILMA family, we say congratulations.
